Club Competitions
Club Champion
This will be awarded to the club member that over the year achieves the most MPs awarded at Club evenings. Current Positions
Premier Pairs
This will be awarded to the pair that has the highest average score over the season. Teams events, National Pairs qualifier and Club Champion Pairs evening will not count.
To qualify the pairs must play in at least 50% of evenings counted. Current Positions
Club Pairs
The 12 pairs with the best performance up to the end of February will qualify to play in the Pairs Championship, which is played in March (see calendar). If a pair is unable to play then reserves will be used to make up the numbers. If several pairs are unavailable then the number playing will be reduced.
The best performance will be assessed by the number of points collected over the season. For a 2 winner movement both winning pairs will receive 2 points, and the second pairs receive 1 point. On a 1 winner evening, the winners will receive 3 points, and the second 2 points, the third 1 point.
Team events, mixed, men’s, ladies and National Pairs events will not count. Current Positions
Club Pairs Plate
This is open to all pairs not playing in the Club Pairs.
Club Teams
A teams evening will be held, the winners being the club’s team champions.
Handicap Pairs
An evening at the end of the season and pairs will use their handicap for the season. A pairs handicap is the difference between their average score for the season and 50%; i.e. a pair with an average for the season of 55% will have a handicap of 5% which will be deducted from their score on the handicap evening.
Mixed Pairs
A competition for mixed pairs held on a club night.
Men’s & Ladies Pairs
A competition when the field will be split into 2 sections, one male the other female.
David Duerden Trophy
On a Monday in January the winners of a normal club evening will be awarded the David Duerden Trophy.
